I didn't fall into quant.
I chose it on purpose.
I'm Krrish. Before college I called more than 500 people in finance and tech to find out what they actually did all day. Those conversations pointed me at quant, and in June 2026 I started as a Quant Investment intern at Occam Advisors.
I like systems that scale
Screening a thousand applications or validating five years of daily readings, I care about a process that stays consistent as the volume grows.
I stay on the problems that matter
Time-series, noisy signals, decisions made under uncertainty. That's the work I keep coming back to, and where I want my career to go.
Story
I came in through data science and kept drifting toward the harder problems.
What pulled me in was forecasting and the mess of real data, and the question of whether a model actually works. I did time-series research with Prof. Saurabh Kumar at IIM Indore, work as a research assistant in USF's Economics department, and in 2026 joined Occam Advisors as a Quant Investment intern on the research behind impact-first investing. Most of that is the unglamorous part, cleaning, testing, and documenting, which is what makes the modeling worth anything.
On the side I founded Forbes Student Research, where every student we took on got into at least one Ivy. I run the Data Science Association and teach across Java, R, and SQL. I like building things, then explaining them to people who aren't in the weeds.

Beyond research
The rest of my life, briefly.
Teaching
I've TA'd Java, R, and SQL for 110+ students, including BSDS 200, CS111, and DS100. The ones I worked with closely kept coming back for my sections.
DSA President
I run USF's Data Science Association. We've brought in Google, GeoPogo, and Salesforce, and built projects like a live housing-price predictor.
Mentoring
I mentor 50+ students through MAGIS and STEP, two programs where the whole point is actually showing up for people.
Tennis
I played competitively for over ten years, up to the ITF level. It's where I learned to focus and stay calm when a match is on the line.
