Quant Investment Intern

I forecast messy, real-world data for people who have to act on the number.

I'm Krrish, a quant and a builder. Most of my work is time-series forecasting, risk, and the Python underneath both. Right now I'm a Quant Investment intern at Occam Advisors. Before this I forecast air quality for a city government in India, run historical-data research at USF, and started an organization that has reviewed over a thousand student research applications.

What I bring

Most of the job is cleaning data and admitting what you don't know.

A model that looks accurate on paper is easy. The harder part is knowing your data well enough to trust it, testing it honestly, and telling people where it stops working. That's where I spend my time.

01

Forecasting people act on

At IIM Indore I modeled five years of daily air quality readings and presented the results to the Indore Municipal Corporation. The recommendations helped bring the city's AQI from 80 to 50. Officials were going to act on the number, so being clear about the model's limits mattered as much as the fit.

02

Building things that hold up

I started Forbes Student Research with nothing and grew it into a 40-person team that has reviewed more than 1,000 applications. Keeping a process consistent as it scales is the same problem a trading idea faces on its way from a notebook to production.

03

Explaining the hard parts

I've TA'd 110+ students across Java, R, and SQL. I can take a technical reader through the math or walk a non-technical team through the uncertainty, without hand-waving either one.

How I think

“A forecast is only useful if you're honest about where it breaks. I learned that presenting to city officials who were going to make policy off the number, and it holds just as true for a trading desk.”

Where I am now

Quant Investment at Occam Advisors

I joined in June 2026 as a Quant Investment intern. Occam Advisors is a Portland, Oregon consulting firm that helps foundations and family offices build impact-first investing programs. It works on a non-discretionary, non-custodial basis: the firm sources, researches, and recommends investments, while each client's committee decides and handles execution in-house. I work on the quantitative research behind those recommendations.
